Enhancing and improving the quality of life at the bottom of the Indian consumer pyramid

In line with TATA Group ethos of improving the quality of life of the communities they serve and delivering products that represent and are symbolic of India, we at Tata Housing are sensitive to the needs of the people at the bottom of the consumer pyramid. With the current 24.7 million shortage of dwelling units, there is an opportunity of 34% of residential properties in the price bracket of Rs. 5 to Rs. 15 lacs that we identified to whom we could offer solutions to. We have ventured into empowering the Lower Income Group with a home along with a community life which is part of a Sustainable Integrated Green Development - a township which will have amenities along with a home. We would like to empower people and give them the pride of owning a house. With this in mind, we have identified providing Smart Value Homes to the common man as a major growth driver for their real estate plans by launching the National Brand Shubh Griha.

Health and education program at our construction sites for the overall well being

Tata Housing takes pride in contributing and having a positive involvement with the society at large. We believe that good health and education plays a major role in empowering people. Our development programme at all our construction sites ensures holistic development of the staff we employ, with complete focus on the creation of a more evolved and nurturing environment. We achieve this by providing support and concentrating on areas like hygiene, sanitation, medical aid, meal and education. It is through these measures we provide the right to be healthy and safe, to nutrition and education.

Neighborhood development and progress

At Tata Housing we not only develop residential properties, but also add value to the overall economic progress and development of the neighborhood. Our housing solutions that are a part of a Sustainable Integrated Green Township that is economically viable, bring economic benefits to the region in the form of revitalisation/rejuvenation projects, slum removal, developing economic sectors successfully through extended opportunity for employment for the people – plantation, vermiculture, horticulture and household work in adjacent housing complex. This increased level of economic activity has led to further enhancement of the location’s image and our properties are a part of this development corridor.

Infrastructure development of the region

With the recent announcement on the railways planning to extend the western railway network till Dahanu Road by July 2010 and additional lines being laid at stations between Virar and Dahanu, the demographics offered by Boisar create an exciting opportunity for people across the country to invest here. With the enhancement of the western railway network, the number of people commuting on this route is expected to rise, following the strengthening of the real estate markets along the extended network. People now living in and around Vasai and Virar can migrate to the newly connected suburbs such as Boisar, both to work and to live in cheaper, better houses. This will also reduce congestion in existing areas.
