1st Real Estate Company to apply for Construction Quality Certification in India Bengaluru, 27 April, 2009: With a focus on quality and long term benefits of the consumers, Tata Housing Development Company Ltd. (TATA Housing) has applied for a joint certification from the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and Construction Quality Rating Agency for construction quality. With this Tata Housing becomes the first Real Estate Company to go for this certification. Tata Housing’s, ‘Aquila Heights’ at Jalahalli, Bengaluru is the first Indian project to go for CIDC and CQRA certification. Designed by Singapore based architects Ong and Ong Ltd., Aquila Heights’ in Bengaluru would span across 6.3 acres. The project will have the tallest residential towers (approx. 105 meters high) with 360 housing units and shall be completed by the end of 2010. The CQRA Certification would certainly demonstrate TATA Housing’s World-Class Property Development Skills in delivering projects and providing solutions.” Ujwal Kunte, Director, CQRA said, “This certification would assure the end users, buyers, financers and the promoters of the project about the reliability of construction quality and would help in bringing the much required focus on Quality of Construction”. This Certification Program will be based on the unique quality indexing system and software developed by CQRA, which can benchmark construction quality levels on a scale of (scorecards) 0 – 10. Here, data is periodically captured from construction sites in objective formats, analyzed and a comprehensive stage-wise report is generated. CIDC is a representative organization of the Indian construction industry jointly set up by the Planning Commission – Government of India and the Indian construction industry. Construction Quality Rating Agency is a Pune based organization engaged in conducting third party quality audits for quality in construction. |
