Tata Housing Development Company Limited (THDC); India’s fastest growing real estate developer in an effort to support the art and culture of the capital city,takes the initiative to design the first longest wall painting
activity in New Delhi - The Delhi Wallbook. The event will be on 24th February 2013 from 9:00am - 3:00pmat Delhi University - North Campus,University Road, Maurice Nagar.

Tata Housing is encouraging the Delhi-ites to speak their mind for a Delhi they desire by using their imagination highlighting the greatest need for change and expressing it with the beauty of colours and graphics.

After the roaring success of the Mumbai Wallbook in May last year, Tata Housing is creating a platform for societal change makers to be vociferous about their need for change. For this, their canvas will be the 1kilometre wall along the North Campus of the Delhi University; a cradle of knowledge and intellect. Nearly 500 graphic artists and painters are expected to participate in this movement to reestablish the power of the people over that of authority and dominance.

Speaking on the Tata Housing initiative, TheDelhi Wallbook, Mr. Rajeeb Dash, Head of Marketing at Tata Housing said, “This is the second chapter of the Wallbook series.  Delhi has been so vocal about their rights as citizens of India, so it was befitting for Tata Housing to provide a canvas for them to paint their emotions on. We hope for some creative imagery of realistic issues and participation for all who seek change.Tata Housing has been known for its association with arts and culture is organizing the Delhi Wallbook, which embodies the citizen’s call for a better tomorrow.

Expressing his views on the event,Mr.SunilKuttyMenon, Founder, Delhi Wallbook said, “We firmly believe Art as a tool and a freedom of expression will help DESIGN THE CHANGE
for the betterment of society plagued with social evils. It would also awaken the responsible caretakers of the society by reminding them time and again their responsibility whenever they cross the Delhi University”

Painters of all genres will participate in the event and get a chance to interact with other experienced artists. This event will provide budding artists a chance to showcase their work out in the open. These artists will be crafting magic on the walls as their canvas. Through this, they will convey the transformation they want to make for a better tomorrow. The activity will be judged by eminent people from the Industry.

The Delhi WallBook is an initiative of Brand Promotions India Pvt. Ltd., presented by Tata Housing to bring professional, amateur and budding artists on the same platform to create an expression for a better tomorrow.

Indikaleido, a cultural fest

Mumbai witnessed a rare combination of Indian handicrafts and indigenous musicians & dance performers coming together in celebration at – ‘Indikaleido’, presented by Tata Housing. Mumbaikars came together at the
luscious lawns of Horniman Circle during 2nd to 4th November, 2012 for enjoyment with social consciousness. The performers at the event included some renowned personalities in the field of music, dance, theatre, puppetry, astronomy and many more.

The event was a huge success and saw participation fromapproximately over 20,000 people from all walks of life. Moreover Tata Housing hastag Switch2Green was trending in Mumbai on Twitter and the company’s Facebookpage saw an increase by over 8000 new fans.

Tata Housing unveiled its Green CSR Campaign Beautiful Is Green (BIG) at the event, which was an extremely engaging initiative. Over 1000 people pledged to live a greener tomorrow. This campaign also received a great response on Tata Housing’s Facebook & Twitter pages which were filled with personalised experiences at Indikaleido.

The audience at Indikaleido thoroughly enjoyed performances by the pioneers of fusion rock music in India - the Indian Ocean. Classical recitals by Rahul Sharma on the santoor, musician and son of legendary santoor player Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, was also very enchanting.

Sufi music recitals by the students from the Allarakha Institute of Music, under the expert tutelage of Ustad Fazal Qureshi, presented Peshkar, while Parampara, was a percussion medley performed by Qureshi students. Indira Naik also charmed the audience with her soulful renditions of Sufi music.

Revelers were also entranced by the passionate performance of the Prince Dance Group, which rose to fame with its portrayal of Lord Krishna and his avatars on reality television. The dance group, headed by Krishna Mohan Reddy, consists of daily wage labourers, who have had no formal training in dance, and yet captivated the audience with their mesmerizing movements.

Amongst the other performers included El Ferda – the Algerian Sufi group who added an African touch to Sufi music. Dhammarakshit better known as Dhammaadded an ethnic touch to the festival by presenting Marathi Shayari prose recital which was not only entertaining but preached social messages to the audience.
Viva Flamenco group performed classical Spanish dance and Pavitra Bhat & Group showcased an extremely vibrant and graceful Bharatnatyam performance.
